SECTA hosts and provides services for JCIAC, which was created by IACP and several professional law enforcement and private security associations to prevent and respond to Information Age crime. Under US Justice Department, National Institute of Justice and Office of Community-Oriented Policing Services contracts, SECTA has provided research, publications, meeting support, police assistance, private security assistance and public information.

The Law Enforcement-Private Security Partnerships Consortium is conducting research into law enforcement-private security partnerships to combat crime and terrorism. The Consortium includes JCIAC, the Institute for Law and Justice (prime contractor), Hallcrest Systems, Inc. and Ohlhausen Research. SECTA, through JCIAC, is supporting this effort to provide best practices guidelines for partnering.
